Since October 2011 Arnold and Hannie's chickens spend the winter here.

They have been called: Arnold, Mieke(the eldest) and Hannie(the latest).

During the day they spend the time outside with the other Silkies.

During the night they used to sleep together with the Silkies:

But after a few weeks Arnold and Mikkie started to have regular fights and now keep a safe distance from each other.

Arnold has got the advantage that he can fly to escape Mikkie's attacks:

So now Arnold and his hens moved voluntary to the glass house:

Since April 19th Mieke has started breeding on 10 eggs:

On May 12 the first chicks came out. For hours I had heard some squeeking and as it got fainter and fainter I decided to help them hatch by peeling off some eggshell when the mother had left her nest.

On Sunday 13th they have dried up pretty well:
